NEW 2008 KENAI RIVER SPORT FISHING REGULATION The Board of Fisheries (BOF) recently adopted a regulation change during the March meeting held in Anchorage. The new regulation will be in effect for the 2008 fishing season. In the Kenai River, from its mouth upstream to Kenai Lake: - Fishing from a vessel when the anchor is dragging is prohibited. If an anchor should fail to hold the vessel in a fixed position, fishing must immediately stop until the anchor is pulled or reset to again hold the vessel in a fixed position. This regulation was passed by the Board of Fisheries to prevent drift boat anglers from using anchors or other devises to slow their drift while fishing by dragging an anchor or any other device along the bottom of the river.
