Soldotna is the center of the Kenai Peninsula and is perfectly located for a hub for all of your Kenai Peninsula adventures. Homer is a mere 70 miles south and Seward is 90 Miles to the east. There are plenty of sightseeing opportunities very close to Soldotna or within a few hour's drive. The Kenai Mountains are to the east and the Chigmit Mountains are to the West. There are 4 active volcanos visiable from the road system of the Kenai Peninsula. Anchorage is roughly 2.5 hours and Denali Park is about 8 hours from Soldotna. There are several visitor centers scattered throughout the Southcentral Alaska region, many related to wilderness and other are historical/cultural. |
